How can I use royalty-free music from Jaapi in my projects?

You can use our royalty-free music as background music in a wide range of projects and mediums, including:

How can you tell the difference between free and paid music on Jaapi?

The same royalty free license applies to our free downloads as paid tracks, but some may be limited in duration or simpler in composition. You’re also more likely to find paid tracks with more variety, longer duration options, and sometimes higher production value.

Can I use your music in corporate projects or commercials?

Yes! Corporate use of Jaapi’s royalty free music, such as in commercials, presentations and internal training videos, is permitted. Please contact us if you are interested in large scale commercial use or ongoing ad campaigns to make sure you comply with licensing terms.

How much does it cost and how is it licensed?

We charge one low price on all project types regardless if you’re a non-profit, start-up, creative or professional commercial client. Pricing is affected by only one variable: length of music track. With our royalty free licenses, we have thought of projects of all sizes, so you’ll never be short of high quality music for your commercial, creative or non profit projects.

We also offer blanket licensing for commercial clients with ongoing needs so that you can license multiple tracks all at once under one agreement for more flexibility and value. What format is the music in?

The download will include WAV and MP3 formats so you can use high quality audio for everything you’re working on.

How do you add production credits?

We don’t require it, but we do appreciate when proper credits are given to the artist. If you choose to, please credit the production with the artist’s name, track name, and if licensed by Jaapi Media.

Here’s an example: Artist Name – Track Name (Produced by Artist Name). Licensed by Jaapi Media (jaapi.media)”

Can I put your music on streaming services?

Our royalty free music is licensed for these uses above and not for redistribution to services like Spotify, Apple Music or Tidal or any other equivalent streaming music services.

Exception: If you have or have not purchased our sample packs, you can use them in whatever project you choose.

Can I upload your music to my YouTube channel?

Yes, you can use our royalty free music as background music for your YouTube channel as long as it contains voiceover or narration. This includes things like guided meditations, podcasts or how to videos. You can also modify the music to serve as background for visual media or film soundtracks.

Not however that you cannot upload the music in a music-only format (such as a music video), this is not permitted and may result in a copyright strike on your channel.

I'm just starting out. Can I get a discount?

Yes! If you are a student filmmaker or your project or business generates less than 10% of your income, you may qualify for a first time discount.

All you have to do is contact us with a link and details about your project and we’ll review each individually.

What is royalty-free music?

Licensing for royalty free music comes with a one time upfront payment, with no further payment required and the license valid forever (in perpetuity).

However, if the music you’re licensing is registered with a performing rights organization (PRO) such as ASCAP or BMI, you may need to pay royalties to the PRO if the music is used in radio or TV broadcasts. If the music is not registered with a PRO, you won’t have to pay royalties.

Is your music available anywhere else?

All music on Jaapi is exclusively available on our catalog and cannot be licensed from anyone. By being exclusive, we are able to carefully curate and produce an original and unique selection for our clients. Additionally, it guarantees that we sustain a competitive and consistent price structure on our whole catalog.

What is your refund policy?

We are a download only company, which means: All sales are final to prevent fraud since our music is available for immediate download after purchase. If there are any problems with your download we would love to hear from you so we can get this sorted for you.

If you're not sure if a certain song will work for your project, please request a sample before purchasing.

What is the best music for my project?

We tag each track in our catalog for mood, length, price, theme, instrument, and more so your search is fast and easy. The Filter (found on collection pages) allows you to search by criteria like mood, duration or price to quickly narrow down on the perfect track for your project. Whether you are looking for uplifting music or something to be more ambient, our filters help you to discover the sound you want.

And we’ve also built over 60 collections to help you further define the music for an even greater selection of music. If you can’t find it, don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll happily suggest something, or add it to our queue for a future release.

Who is Jaapi Media?

Founded by Phil Strickland—Music Composer, Entrepreneur, and Army Veteran—Jaapi Media was created in December 2022 to offer royalty free tracks created under his independent record label Light Journey Music.  

Our initial catalog features Phil's early works from the Anaamaly music project focusing on meditative soundscapes that lead to inner peace, healing, and self introspection.

Jaapi also maintains over 20 playlists on Spotify with 100+ hours of ambient, lofi, meditation, sleep, yoga, and relaxation music. Here you can learn more about our mission.
